COMENSA defines coaching as, "a professional, collaborative and outcomes-driven method of learning that seeks to develop an individual and raise self-awareness so that he or she might achieve specific goals and perform at a more effective level". Coaching is different from facilitation in that the coachee sets the agenda. Coaching isn’t about giving advice or telling someone what to do. A good coach will present more questions than answers, and challenge the person being coached to consider new perspectives and different approaches in achieving his or her goals. Our vision can be expressed as "Coaching towards excellence."
